I have been living this amazing plant-based lifestyle for over three years now. Most of you know that prior to me eating this way, I never stepped foot in the kitchen before. So the thought of me in the kitchen, cutting, dicing, sautéing, baking, roasting, you follow me…still cracks me up!
I will tell ya though, I am LOVING it. What the heck took me so long? Is anyone else loving this fabulous PBJ lifestyle? Anyone else love preparing plant-based meals as much as I do?
I am not alone here…right? I know there are other Plant-Based Junkies out there. If so, please leave a comment below regarding your favorite part of being plant-based.
- Is it finding new tasty meals to try?
- Is it playing around with cool, kitchen gadgets? (I admit, this is one of my favorites)
- Is it because you LOVE the way you feel, and all the energy you have?
- What are YOUR top perks? I would LOVE to know!
The reason for this post today, is to share my new kitchen gadget with y’all. Of course, also share a delicious recipe to go along with.
Most of you know from my Facebook post yesterday, that I am having a blast with my new Christmas present from the hubby.
I know right? DROOL…city!
That being said: SHAME ON YOU, for not telling me about this amazing appliance!
O….to the M….to the G!
Here is a picture of my new obsession. Not sure if I will be using my stove for a while, lol.
I was so nervous to use it, that it set in the box for almost a week. (That is a LONG time for me, to leave a new kitchen appliance in a box, lol)
Finally, last night I decided to break that bad boy out of its cave, and get over being a scaredy-cat. I read the small instruction booklet front to back, and jumped right in.
I decided to try a tasty-looking recipe from a new cookbook I had just picked up. This book has received a TON of rave reviews, so I finally bought it. Not that I needed another cookbook. I mean geesh, I have already accumulated these, and more not pictured:
But, what is a PBJ to do, right?
Am I right?
Speaking of delicious recipes. I am thrilled to share a recipe from the Isa Does It cookbook.

For my no-oil PBJ’s….no worries…just leave out the oil. I did, and it turned out GREAT! Just substitute water, or veggie broth. I have a small water bottle I picked up from the Dollar Store. I just spritzed water in the wok, anytime it needed it. Easy enough, right?
Also, the recipe calls for Hoisin Sauce, which I did not have on hand. However, I found this recipe to make it from scratch. CLICK HERE for recipe.
I left out the oil, and used peanut butter, molasses, and sriracha. It was pretty darn tasty.
Now that you all are drooling (yeah, I did that on purpose, lol)….go get your wok’s ready, and make this pronto!
