12/10/05 –The day I lost a piece of my heart, my DAD
It is hard to believe that eight years has passed, since I lost the love of my life.
DAD, I miss you with ALL of my being. I would give anything to have just one more bear hug, one more smooch on the cheek, and one more “I LOVE YOU”.
Nothing will ever fill that void, and emptiness in my heart. The smiles, hugs, and love you showered me with can never be replicated. Frank sure does a fantastic job at coming in second, and I am grateful for him. 🙂
I still remember vividly your infectious laugh, and the way you could always light up the room with your smile. I am reminded frequently how contagious my smile is, and I grin even bigger, because I know that I inherited such an amazing gift from YOU.
The last eight years have been rough on this day, because all that ever sticks out in my mind is the not-so-good memories of the last day I would ever see you again. The heart disease finally took hold of you, and took you away from me, forever.
Today is the first day in eight years that I have only shed happy tears, and not tears of grief.
Don’t get me wrong, the pain is still there. The image of your face that last time I saw you, are still at the forefront in my mind. However, what is still strong in my heart is my love for you, and the wonderful memories we made together.
To honor your memory, my promise to you, is to share my story (which includes losing you to heart disease), with anyone willing to listen. My intentions are to reach out to one person at a time, in hopes of opening up their eyes, and hearts to this amazing plant-based lifestyle.
I have realized that even though I lost a HUGE piece of my heart on 12/10/05, I am slowly gaining it back bit by bit. For each person that decides to give a plant-based lifestyle a try, and has a desire to live a healthier life, I gain back a piece of my heart through each person.
I am so grateful to have stumbled across this lifestyle, and I embrace it with full force. I am beyond passionate about sharing what I have learned thus far, and want to help as many as possible feel as amazing as I do. Life does NOT have to be about pills, hospitals, pain, suffering, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc… We truly can live a vibrant, energetic, pain-free, healthy life void of all of the above.
I would love to hear how living a plant-based lifestyle has changed YOUR life, and why you decided to make the change. Please leave a comment below, and share with the PBJ family.
If you have a desire to live a healthier life, the PBJ family is ready and willing to support, inspire, motivate, and encourage you along in your PBJ journey. How can we help?
